			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The stately McNutt House was built in 1909 in Colonial revival style by Mrs. S.R. McNutt, the widow of a wealthy Arkadelphia merchant.</p>
<p>In the early 1920s, the house was sold to Dr. H.A. Ross. During the 20 years the Ross family lived here, one of the men&#8217;s dormitories at what is now <a href="http://www.hsu.edu" title="Henderson State University" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/http://www.hsu.edu');">Henderson State University</a> burned and townspeople were asked to house the dozens of displaced students.</p>
